Exploring Weather

Welcome to the GIFTS Home Page!GIFTS main image

Have you ever wondered how scientists predict the weather?
The GIFTS instrument, being developed at the Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL), has the capability to collect weather data that will help scientists forecast up-to-the-minute weather conditions. Better weather predictions can warn people to seek shelter from storms, hurricanes and tornadoes and also can tell aircraft of new weather conditions that helps them fly safely.

SDL is proud to be part of the GIFTS sensor team.
SDL is working with NASA Langley and the University of Wisconsin in a four-year national outreach program for GIFTS.
